2013 Syrah

An elegant, finely balanced interplay of fragrant red and blue fruits, peppery spice, silky tannins and subtle French oak.

Tasting Notes

An intriguing, complex nose of plums, raspberries, aniseed and black pepper spice, supported by a subtle dusting of cinnamon and mocha from quality French oak. The palate is round and soft, with an almost creamy mouthfeel on the mid-palate, finishing with sweet, silky tannins and balanced acidity.

Black pepper steak, braised ox tail.

A mostly warm and dry growing season throughout leading to a low crop of intensely flavoured fruit.

Hand-picked from vines dry-grown on deep red, loamy basaltic ferrosols, near the vineyard’s plateau. Matured in a mixture of French oak hogsheads and puncheons for 20 months.
