Tasting Notes

An elegant, aromatic, typically Yarra Cabernet nose of red and blue fruits, hints of bay leaf and brown spice, and balanced, high quality French oak. Cool berry fruits flow through the length of the palate, supported by classically restrained, fine-grained velvety tannins giving length, generosity, and complexity.

Dry-aged standing rib-roast.

A mostly warm and dry growing season throughout leading to a low crop of intensely flavoured fruit.

Handpicked from our dry-grown estate vineyard on the 11th of April. The 30+ year old Cabernet Sauvignon vines are located on the highest part of the property, on North-facing slopes with North-South rows. Matured for 16 months in a mix of French oak barriques, hogsheads and puncheons, of which approximately 45% was new. A small amount of Merlot and Sangiovese was also included in the blend (8% in total) for textural richness, as well as aromatic complexity.
